Austin was born in Mineral Wells, Texas in 1995. Though Texas is home, he spent seven years of his childhood in Kissimmee, Florida. At the age of 12, his father accepted a position at Pleasantview Baptist Church. Being the son of a Baptist preacher, Austin has always been around ministry and church-life. He first accepted the truths of the Gospel at the age of 4. As he grew in age and understanding, he decided to re-assure himself of that decision one summer at Minnetonka Christian Camp. Austin says, “My faith has been a lengthy and complicated process. Since I was a child, I had always believed in the truths of the Gospel and wanted to do what I knew to be right. However, as I grew up, I was faced the real decision of making my faith my own not merely fitting into the mold of being the son of the pastor. As I began to understand the Gospel on a deeper level, the Lord began to do a work in my life. I am so grateful for that season of growth and the patience of the Lord.”
In the summer of 2011, Austin went on his first out-of-the-country mission trip to Honduras. He admits that the Lord used this trip as a catalyst in his life. Upon returning from that trip, Austin surrendered his life to full-time ministry at Pleasantview’s Annual Mission Conference. Since then, he has been given opportunities to serve the Lord both at home and around the world. His passion is to see people around the globe come to faith in Jesus Christ.
Austin married his wife, Aaren Jefferson McNeil, on June 9, 2018. He also graduated in 2018 with his Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies from Scarborough College at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He plans to further his education in the years to come.
Austin and his family have been members of Pleasantview Baptist Church since July 2008. In May of 2018, he accepted the position of full-time college and missions pastor.
